Okay, so I wasn’t actually planning to write this post, but I had so much fun last night taking pictures that I thought I’d share a few of them with you.
I decided to take a few selfies of me with my horse with Nadine Brandes’s book A Time to Die to celebrate the release of it’s sequel A Time to Speak (which released today! Yay! Though, only the ebook version is available. Click here for Nadine’s full explanation of why).
Anyway, I marched over to the horse pasture with book and camera in hand.

If you couldn’t tell by the great lengths I went to, I really, really love this series. And, if you enjoyed the characters in Dare, it is in part because Nadine was my gracious editor to point out things where “this decision doesn’t make sense” or “this character is really flat” or “this character doesn’t do anything but sit around and cower the entire book.”
Her books are available here:

Book 2 (A Time to Speak) – bit.ly/AmazonATtSPaperback
Have you ever done a selfie with a book before? How about a selfie with an animal? Ever tried doing both at once?
And the horse’s name is…
Cute post. And no, not with a book, not with an animal. 😉

His name is Shadow. I know, funny name for a white horse. His first owner named him Shadow because he liked to turn his head and look at his own shadow (I think it’s the horse form of admiring oneself in the mirror). When we bought him, we left the name because it sounded like Shadowfax.

He’s a cutie!! 🙂
Selfies with enthusiastic puppies are difficult to take. I’ve never done a book selfie before. Actually I don’t really take selfies unless I’m making ridiculous faces to Snapchat to people. 😛

I don’t usually take selfies either. Actually, I usually only take them of me with new books.
I can imagine that selfies with puppies are hard to take! Trying to take pictures of my dogs is even harder than pictures with my horse. At least my horse stands still while I’m bribing him with treats. Dogs just get more rambunctious the more you bribe them.

Those are some awesome pictures! I know how hard it is to get a horse to cooperate for pictures. I have tried… XD But they’re certainly easier than my hyper dog.

Yes, horses are easier to get to stand still than dogs, that’s for sure!

Haha, yeah, Midas isn’t into selfies either.

Shadow was perfectly fine with it once I bribed him enough. His stomach speaks louder than annoyance.

Dare, A Time to Die, and a Time to Speak sound so amazing! I have to hurry up on my book list so I can read these! 😀

Thanks! If you’re anything like me, your Christmas list is already a mile long, and there’s still a month to go to find more books to add! 😉
